Hanging Rock is a must-visit destination not far from Melbourne, offering plenty of open spaces for family gatherings, hiking, exploring, and a cafe to enjoy hot or cold drinks. With stunning views from various vantage points, this location is perfect for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The park provides picnic areas, BBQ facilities, clean toilets, and even a racecourse. The 1.8 km summit walk is moderately easy, taking approximately 50 minutes up and down. Though there's a entry fee for cars, the park's amenities and natural beauty make it well worth the visit. Hanging Rock can get crowded during public holidays, so it's essential to plan your visit accordingly. Additionally, do note that the park closes at 5 PM.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
